Recent Sorrento Hotel Review: "I had a fantastic time in Seattle, in part because the Sorrento staff. I asked for a recommendation for a hair salon when I checked in. The concierge overhead me, and within 30 minutes I had been dropped off by the free shuttle service (in a black Mercedes) at a beautiful salon downtown where he had made me an appointment. I felt like a celebrity!
This hotel offers free internet, which is always of high importance to me, mostly for the convenience factor.
There are a few things that made me a bit frustrated:
--no free bottled water (a small generic would be appreciated, even)
--the toilet was loud and ran for a long time
--I called the front desk to schedule a wake up call around 10pm and no one answered
--I called to ask if there was an iron and the front desk staff didn't know where it was...this resulted in 2 really loud follow up phone calls to the room at 6:30am while she found someone who did know. For the record, it's behind the door in the closet leading to the bathroom. A detailed tour of a room when training all new staff would be great.
--A maid continued to clean the elevator while I rode in it with her. I also think she delayed the elevator's arrival...there's only one elevator and this was at 7:45am. Again, it seems like a training issue - no elevator cleaning at peak times!
--When I called to have the shuttle come pick me up, I was told they were too busy and to take a cab. It turns out the guys who typically drive the shuttle had to tend to valet customers. I understand the shuttle is subject to availability. But, I contend that if your hotel provides shuttle service, please assign a staff person to keep the shuttle available at all times. Or, at the very least, make sure the driver communicates to the passenger that there is a possibility the shuttle may not be available for a pick up rather than saying "just give me a call when you're ready for me to come get you.""

The Hunt Club - This intimate restaurant, among the most acclaimed in Seattle, serves inspired farm-to-table cuisine complemented by an extensive wine list. With deep wood paneling, sensuously flavored foods, and twinkling candlelight at dinnertime, it's no wonder that the Hunt Club is the setting for close to 100 marriage proposals each year. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fireside Room - Without question one of the most gorgeous public rooms in the city, the octagonal room is the perfect place for quiet chats and light dining by the crackling fire. Original paintings, plush wingback chairs and couches, gleaming mahogany-paneled walls, and rich tones of russet, ruby, and gold create a warmly inviting ambience. The focal point is the fireplace with its antique tiled pottery mosaic depicting an Italian landscape. The Fireside Room offers light dinners and a formal afternoon tea on weekends year round and daily during the holiday season. On Friday and Saturday evenings live entertainment is performed by a featured musician or band. Open from early afternoon until late evening. Hunt Club Bar - This long, lean bar with comfortable banquette seating is a fine place to sip a smooth martini. Open nightly. Piazza Capri - Open during the summer season, the Piazza Capri is reminiscent of sidewalk cafés in Italy. The Piazza is located by the courtyard fountain and features an Italian menu inspired by Harry's Bar in Venice. Room Service - Available during limited hours.
